Fix Drywall in Corners
Everyone wants to save on home projects – particularly those they’ve experienced. A particular project people want to put their hands on is a wall patch. However, achieving a successful and affordable drywall repair isn’t easy. Before you start your project, read through this blog to get ready!
Ensure you have all the necessary safety equipment before starting a DIY drywall corner repair project. Applying a thin bead of latex or silicone caulk over a small corner crack may be sufficient, but make sure that the caulk can be painted over. After applying the caulk, use your finger to smooth it out into the corner.
When dealing with larger cracks, you must cut through the pre-existing seam and remove any loose drywall or tape. Hold a piece of paper tape that has been cut to the same size along the middle crease. The corner’s joint compound can now be applied.
Using your joint knife, apply the fresh piece of tape and smooth it into position. Give it time to dry completely. Apply the compound to one corner after it has dried. Do the same to the opposite corner after the first side has dried.
As the manufacturer directs, let this cure before sanding and painting as necessary.
Repairing inside-corner cracks is surprisingly simple. You only need a few simple supplies, some time, and patience. To make the repair, you will need the following:
